TED SAVAS
speaks about
"Civil War Book Publishing"

Presentation to the
Civil War Round Table of the District of Columbia
Via Zoom
on October 13, 2020

About the Topic:

Theodore P. Savas is the Managing Director of Savas Beatie LLC, a leading independent trade publisher headquartered in El Dorado Hills, California. The company has published more than 100 military, general history, and sports history titles, many of which have been ground-breaking, award-winning, and selected by national book clubs. The company’s tagline is “Independent . . . scholarly  . . . and a bit old fashioned."

Mr. Savas will present an insider’s view of the business of niche publishing, working with authors developing manuscripts, and his own projects to enhance the study and preservation of history.

He has been in the business for decades and has been a witness to the evolution of book publishing. Indeed, Mr. Savas has seen the industry from all angles: as an editor, as a publisher, as an agent and consultant, and as an award-winning author in his own right.  He has reportedly commented, “The world of book publishing is fascinating and changing rapidly. I’m lucky that my passion is also how I make my daily living.”

Mr. Savas will also answer questions from attendees.
