Summary of Presentation:
Gordon Berg speaks to the Civil War Round Table of the District of Columbia on February 11, 2014, at the Fort McNair Officers' Club in Washington D.C. on the topic: "All Gallantry and Useless Sacrifice: The Failure of Confederate Commanding at Tupelo."  He discusses Nathan Bedford Forrest's action with S.D. Lee at the Battle of Tupelo, Mississippi,  against A.J. Smith and Mower on July 14, 1864. 

Biography:
Gordon Berg is a past President and member of the Civil War Round Table of the District of Columbia (www.cwrtdc.org).  His reviews and articles appear in the Civil War Times and America's Civil War, among other publications.
